Bilal – The Brave Voice

A long time ago, in the city of Mecca, there lived a kind and brave man named Bilal. Bilal was very special, but he was also a slave, which meant he had to work very hard for his master and had little freedom. Even though Bilal’s life was hard, his heart was full of love for God.
When Bilal learned about Islam from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he felt a deep happiness in his heart. He wanted to follow God and worship Him alone. But Bilal’s master was very cruel. He did not like Bilal’s new faith and tried to make him give it up. He would force Bilal to work in the scorching sun, lie on hot sand, and even put heavy stones on his chest. But Bilal was brave. Every time he was hurt, he whispered, “Ahad! Ahad!” – which means, “One God! One God!”
Bilal’s suffering did not go unnoticed. One of the Prophet’s ﷺ close friends, Abu Bakr, saw how strong and faithful Bilal was. He bought Bilal’s freedom and told him, “You are free now!” Bilal was so happy, he thanked God and promised to serve Him with all his heart.
Soon, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ gave Bilal an important job. He became the first muezzin, the person who calls everyone to prayer. Bilal’s voice was beautiful and pure. Every time he called, people felt peace and love in their hearts.
Bilal showed everyone that courage, faith, and kindness are stronger than fear or cruelty. He taught that it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from—what matters is what is in your heart. From that day on, Bilal’s voice became a symbol of hope, bravery, and devotion to God.
